Abstract
PURPOSE:To continuously control the mixing ratio in a pipeline with high precision and with a small amt. of solvent by controlling the flow rate of the org. solvent in a gaseous state. CONSTITUTION:The org. solvent 5 is heated in each heater 1 to a temp. higher than its b.p. to generate the vapor of the solvent 5, and the vapor is transported to a pipeline 7 by the carrier gas 6 such as gaseous nitrogen. The flow rate of the transported vapor is controlled by a mass flowmeter 2 to a specified value, and the vapor is further transported by the pipeline. The vapors of the respective solvents are mixed in a mixing pipe 3 packed with a column. The mixture is then passed through a cooler or a temp. regulator 4, cooled, and liquefied, or used as a gaseous mixture kept at a specified temp. Since the flow rate of the vapor is thus controlled, precision is enhanced, and stabilized control can be carried out because the volume of the vaporized solvent is large.
