Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a superconducting magnet device inhibiting the heat generation of a permanent current switch and capable of reducing the consumption of a refrigerant by utilizing the Meissner effect of a superconducting switch member and controlling ON-OFF by magnetic fields generated from first and second superconducting coils. CONSTITUTION:When a second superconducting coil 22 in a permanent current switch 7 is energized by a second exciting power 23, a magnetic field is generated in the second superconducting coil 22, and a superconducting switch member 21 is separated by the second superconducting coil 22 by a Meissner effect, and switched OFF. Energization is started from an exciting conduction 6 to a superconducting coil 3 for a main circuit under the state, and a current value is elevated up to a rated current value. When the conduction currents of the second superconducting coil 22 in the permanent current switch 7 are lowered gradually, a magnetic field generated is also reduced, and lastly brought to zero. Since rated currents are flowing through the first superconducting coil 3 instead, a magnetic field is generated in the first superconducting coil 3, and the superconducting switch member 21 is pushed against a contact 24. Accordingly, permanent circulating currents flow between the first superconducting coil 3 and the permanent current switch 7.
