Abstract

PURPOSE:To develop a Ti-base alloy excellent in corrosion resistance and workability, by adding platinum metals and specific metals to Ti low in the contents of O and Fe as impurities and then applying heat treatment to the resulting alloy at a specific temp. CONSTITUTION:One or more kinds among platinum metals such as Rh, Os, Ir, and Pt (0.005-2.0wt.%, in total) and 0.05-2.0wt.%, in total, of one or more kinds among <2.0wt.% Ni, <1.7wt.% Co, <1.8wt.% Mo, <0.1wt.% W, and <1.0wt.% V are incorporated to Ti, and the contents of O and Fe as impurities are controlled to <0.15wt.% and <0.3wt.%, respectively. By subjecting the resulting Ti-base alloy to heat treatment at 550-750 deg.C, the Ti-base alloy excel lent in workability and corrosion resistance can be obtained.
