Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve high apparent density of iron powder by finely subdividing after roughly crushing iron granules produced by atomizing method to produce the subdivided iron powder having smaller than the prescribed particle size and further, subdividing the granules by mechanical means so that the particle shape becomes round. CONSTITUTION:The iron grain is made into the powdery particles by the atomizing method and after roughly crushing and finely subdividing iron powdery cake heated and reduced, it is sieved to produce the subdivided iron powder having smaller than the prescribed particle size. This is again subdivided by the mechanical means so that the particle shape becomes round. By this method, the iron powder having high apparent density can be produced. Further, as the compressibility and compactibility are improved, it is used as raw material powder for sintered parts and for magnetic material.
