Abstract
PURPOSE:To eliminate background fog and to obtain high image density by using a naphthol AS type insoluble azo pigment specified in composition. CONSTITUTION:The liquid color developer for electrostatic photography is obtained by dispersing into a liquid medium a toner composed essentially of a binder resin and the naphthol AS type insoluble azo pigment represented by formula I in which R is H or a group of formula II; each of A, B, and C is groups of formulae III, and each of X and Y is groups of formulae IV, thus permitting the characters printed by using this liquid developer to be freed of background fog and enhanced in image density, and accordingly, color images formed by color superimposing development to be enhanced in contrast.
