Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a multicolor image high in resolution and image quality, by using a developer prepared by attaching a color toner to a carrier composed of a transparent insulating resin, a magnetic powder, and a charge controller with a white color or a color having the same color component as the toner. CONSTITUTION:A developing device 18 is composed of each developing unit 18a, 18b, 18c, and 18d for yellow, magenta, cyan, and black, and each deloping unit develops a latent image exposed to a color separated with color separation filters 10 with a necessary color toner corresponding to the color of the filter. In the case of a yellow developer, 100pts.wt. styrene-acrylic resin and 7pts.wt. ''CI Solvent Yellow 77 '' as a toner composition, and 100pts.wt. styrene resin, 70pts.wt. yttrium-iron garnet, and 4pts.wt. ''CI Pigment Yellow '' as a carrier component are used and their particle diameters are made similar, and a high quality image is obtained by use of this developer. In addition, developers having specified compositions are used in the cases of other colors.
