Abstract

PURPOSE: To increase a band width and reflectivity setting range and to narrow the band width by alternately laminating thin high refractive index films and thin low refractive index films thinner than said films.
CONSTITUTION: Optical multi-layered films 1 are formed by alternately laminating the thin high refractive index films H having a large film thickness and the thin low refractive index films L having the thickness smaller than the film thickness of the films H on a substrate 2. A change in the phases of the reflected waves generated at the respective boundary faces is generated by a difference in the film thicknesses, by which interferences are generated and the reflection of the required wavelength component is intensified so that the multi-layered films have the strong selective optical characteristics to the wavelength light near twice the average thickness of the total thin films. As a result, the band width and reflectivity setting can be executed in the large range and the band width is extremely narrowed.
