Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent the reflected light from a metallic surface used for flare stops, ring slits, etc. by providing ≥1 layers of thin films of metals on a sufficiently thick metallic film.
CONSTITUTION: A metallic film I is provided on a metallic substrate II. The overall intensity reflectivity when light is made incident perpendicularly to the surface (a) of the metallic film I is expressed by the equation (1) where the double refractive index of the film I is defined as n2-ik2, the film thickness as d1, the double refractive index of the substrate II as n3-ik3, and the refractive index of the part upper than the surface (a) of the film I as n1. If the equation (3) is satisfied even if the equation (2) is not strictly satisfied, an appreciable degree of reflection prevention is feasible as far as then n2, k2, n3, k3 are within the range of inequalities 1.7≤n2≤4.0<k2≤0.7, 0.5≤n3≤4, 2≤k3≤10 with respect to 1≤ n1≤2.
