Abstract
PURPOSE:To provide the title capacitor with high capacitance in a small volume thereof by cleaning the surface of a semiconductor layer formed on the surface of an anode base composed of metal having a valve function with ultrasonic vibration before or after cleaning the same with a solution containing carboxylic acid, oxyacid or a salt thereof. CONSTITUTION:Upon manufacturing a solid electrolytic capacitor by forming in succession a dielectric oxide-coated layer, a semiconductor layer on the surface of an anode base composed of metal having a valve function such as aluminum, tantalum, niobium, and titanium, said semiconductor layer is formed in a plurality of steps, and the surface of the semiconductor layer so formed is cleaned with a solution containing carboxylic acid, oxyacid, and carboxylate. Before or after cleaning the surface with the above solution, ultrasonic cleaning is effected for the surface, but preferably after the above solution cleaning. Finally, theb conductor layer is formed by forming a metal layer or a carbon layer on the semiconductor layer.
