Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent the angular deviation of exit light and to increase adhesive strength by providing a spacer film to the part on the surface of a transparent substrate where an optical film is not formed. CONSTITUTION:The optical film 3 having desired optical characteristics is deposited by vapor deposition on nearly half the surface of the square plate- shaped transparent substrate 1 consisting of optical glass (for example, BK7), etc. The spacer film 100 such as, for example, SiO2 film is formed by vapor deposition on the other half surface on which the optical film 3 is not formed. A transparent body block 2 is adhered by an optical adhesive agent to the surface of the optical film 3 while the block is held in tight contact with the surface of the spacer film 100. There is, therefore, no step between the optical film 3 and the spacer film 100 and since both the films have the same plane, the inclined sticking of the transparent body block 2 to the transparent substrate 1 is obviated. Since the substrate 1 and the block 2 are adhered in a wide area, the adhesive strength is high and the transparent body block is not exfoliated.
