Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a light-weight aggregate concrete having excellent freezing resistance and capable of feeding with pump under pressure, by blending a light-weight aggregate impregnated with an antifreezing agent into concrete. CONSTITUTION:In the light-weight aggregate concrete using a light-weight aggregate as an aggregate, an aggregate obtained by impregnating an antifreezing agent into the light-weight aggregate is used as the above-mentioned aggregate. The light-weight aggregate maintains required water content and simultaneously is free from breakage by freezing and melting action by impregnating the antifreezing agent into the light-weight aggregate. The used antifreezing agent includes sodium chloride, calcium chloride, potassium carbonate, sodium nitrite, urea or calcium nitrate. The antifreezing agent is impregnated into the light-weight aggregate e.g. by air-cooling a light-weight aggregate burned in a kiln in a rotary screen and spraying the antifreezing agent to the aggregate when aggregate temperature becomes 350-500 deg.C and then sprinkling water on the aggregate with a sprinkler in storage at stockyard so as to highly contain water.
