Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide the above-captioned seal body dispensing with exfoliation between layers and a vulcanizing process by incorporating fiber reinforcing plastic in thermoplastic elastomer. CONSTITUTION:SES(surface effect ship) 1 of twin-fuselage type has side hulls 2 and an introducing hole 3 in the central section to send air for floating the ship. Also, the SES 1 has a seal body consisting of front and rear seals 4, 5 for preventing introduced air from escaping to the outside in the direction of small arrow. The seal body in the ship holding the ship weight with pneu matic pressure generated on the lower surface in the ship is constituted from round bar-like FRP reinforcing members 31 having a circular section and a base material 32 of thermoelastic elastomer incorporating and surrounding said member 31. Thus, the seal body without any exfoliation between layers is provided while the mechanical condition of ship can be satisfactorily maintained to improve the stability against the external wave force.
