Abstract
The Vacuum Vessel 1 is specifically designed and constructed, using the minimum weight of materials, with a non-return valve 2, to enable the weight of the vessel to be reduced when the air is removed. It comprises a spherical hollow chamber formed from a laminate of two layers of carbon fibre reinforced epoxy resin with a low density foam core.
