Abstract
PURPOSE:To simplify circuit constitution, to reduce the number of parts as well as cost by making a read clock for an image memory and a scamplign clock for a D/A converter such a clock as whose frequency is n-times of a color subcarrier frequency. CONSTITUTION:Data sampled by an A/D converter 20 is written in the image memory 23, then the data is read out with the clock of a frequency of 4fsc2 and D/A-converted, then a waveform in which the time base is compressed to 1/5 and a color subcarrier is continuous is obtained. Thus, an image can be compressed in the horizontal direction while maintaining the form of a composite video signal, while the compression in the vertical direction is realized by thinning out scanning lines, hence the picture as a whole can be contracted. Compressed image information thus obtained is selected timely instead of a composite video signal for a new picture by means of a switch 27, and supplied to a monitor, and as a result, a slave picture can be displayed in the new picture.
