Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain the titled paste containing no ungelatinized starch, stable for a long time and capable of sticking together at a high speed and readily treating because of having low viscosity when used, by dissolving a starch suspension in a specific concentration and pressure and alkalizing the resultant solution to a specific pH or above. CONSTITUTION:30-50wt.% starch suspension is dissolved at >=150 deg.C, preferably 170-190 deg.C under pressure higher than saturated vapor pressure at the above- mentioned temperature. Then pH of gelatinized starch solution is changed to >=12 to provide the aimed paste containing no ungelatinized starch and having 30-50wt.% gelatinized starch. NaOH is preferably used in order to change pH to >=12.
