Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a trolley line with high strength, high wear resistance, and high corrosion resistance by metallically bonding a copper or a copper-alloy covering material with a covering rate of 45-75% sectional area ratio, to a steel wire core material. CONSTITUTION:The periphery of the steel wire core material 1 of a trolley line is covered with a covering material 2 of copper or a copper alloy. The covering rate of this covering material 2 is made 45-75% by sectional area ratio. And, the copper or copper alloy zone of the covering material 2 is joined to the steel wire of the core material 1 by means of metallic bond. In this composite wire with the metallic bond, the diffusion of atoms takes place on the interface between the steel wire and the copper or copper alloy zone to join both extremely strongly. Hence, even if a compression load is applied in the diametral direction, separation will not take place between the steel wire and the copper or copper alloy zone, also without causing corrosion preferentially in the boundary part between the covering material 2 and the core material 1. Further, since a steel wire is used as the core material 1, high strength and high wear resistance can be obtained.
