Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce the power consumption of a receiver by intermittently keeping the receiver in the reception state for a time slightly longer than the stop time and stopping the reception for a certain time thereafter and repeating these operations in a system where the transmission time of the call signal from a host to the receiver and the stop time are periodically provided. CONSTITUTION:In case of transmission of the call signal from the host to the receiver, the host transmits the call signal for a period T1 and stops transmission for a following period T2 and repeats these operations. The receiver is intermittently kept in the reception state for a period T3 slightly shorter than said stop period of transmission of the call signal from the host and stops reception for a certain period thereafter and repeats these operations. When the receiver detects the call signal in this intermittent reception state, power saving is stopped to switch the receiver to the continuous reception state.
