Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the bar code read accuracy and to flexibility cope with the coverages of print areas by representing the bar constitutions of respective character bar codes with numerical information, and designating width magnification and lengths for the information. CONSTITUTION:The bar constitution of each character bar code is represented by numerical information and is stored in a bard constitution storing means 1. When print designation data 4 is inputted, the means 1 is accessed with the character string data to read the numerical information that represents the bar constitution of the data. Thus read out numerical information is inputted to a multiplication means 2 together with a width magnification in the designation data 4, where they are multiplied. A vector drawing means 3 draws a vector to a designated length based on the result by the means 2, paints the black bar art of the code, and thus develops a bit map memory 5. This bit map image in the memory 5 is printed. As a result, the modification of a pattern size is made easier, the accuracy of print is improved, and the varied coverages of print areas can be flexibly treated.
