Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a high lubricating property without use of a lubricant by composing each of vanes from a self-lubricating material containing a matrix of polyamide relating to a rotary machine comprising a cylinder which houses a rotor circumferentially carrying a number of vanes within the cylinder. CONSTITUTION: A vane type motor is equipped with a cylinder 10 and a rotor 11 which supports a plurality of vanes 13 in order to seal them in a plurality of slots 12 axially extending, by cooperating with the cylinder 10. Compressed air for powering is fed to the cylinder 10 by way of alternative inlet ports 14, 15 and discharged by way of an outlet port 16. In this instance, each vane 13 is composed of a core 20 of continuous aramid fibers impregnated in a matrix of polyamide and two surface layers 21, 22 containing a continuous fiber high in modulus of elasticity such as fibers from carbon or glass which is, for example, arranged in an alternate pattern and which is impregnated in the polyamide.
