Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve a scavenging effect of residual exhaust gas by installing a device which restrains the residual exhaust gas in each cylinder from flowing back to a suction system at an engine light load area, in case of the engine that makes suction air so as to resonate and synchronize in a resonating suction passage. CONSTITUTION:In an engine, for example, a fuel injection V-type multicylinder engine 1, a suction passage 7 is connected to each suction port 4 of respective cylinders 2a-2f. And, this suction passage 7 is constituted of the independent suction passage 8 connected to each suction port 4 of these cylinders 2a-2f, a ring suction passage 9 as the resonance suction passage connected to an upstream end of this independent suction passage 8 and the resonance suction passage 10 connected to this ring suction passage 9. In this case, in the independent suction passage 8, there are provided with a fuel injection valve 22 and a throttle valve 20 respectively. And, at a light load area of the engine 1, the throttle valve 20 is closed synchronously with another throttle valve 16 whereby residual exhaust gas in each of these cylinders 2a-2f is restrained from flowing back to a suction system.
