Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent pressure variation of a storing vessel and to stably obtain metal powder by constituting the titled production apparatus by circulating while cooling atomizing medium accompanying with the metal powder in the storing vessel obtained by colliding low boiling point organic solvent against molten metal pouring from a tundish. CONSTITUTION:To the molten metal pouring from the tundish 2 in an airtight vessel 13 held with inert gas atmosphere, the low boiling point organic solvent in a tank 16 for atomizing is injected 6 and the molten metal is rapidly cooled, to obtain the metal powder. Then, this metal powder and the organic solvent are piled in the storing vessel 9 and taken out as slurry-state from recovery valve 17, and the metal powder is recovered by separation 18 and the atomizing medium is returned to the tank 16 from a storing vessel 21. In this operation, when the temp. of the liquid atomizing medium in the storing vessel 9 becomes more than the setting temp., a circulating pump 103 and cooler 105 are worked to cool the liquid atomizing medium in the vessel 9. By efficiently controlling the temp. of the liquid atomizing medium in the vessel 9, it is held to the fixed condition, and the pressure variation in the vessel 9 is reduced, and particle dispersion, shape and quality of the metal powder are stabilized.
