CONSTITUTION:The thin ferromagnetic metallic film 2 formed on a high-polymer film consisting of polyethylene terephthalate, polyethylene naphthalate, polyphenylene sulfide, polysulfone and polyamide imide is subjected to the glow discharge treatment and thereafter, the monomolecular layer 3 is formed thereon. Since a protective film material used for forming the monomolecular layer has uniform and good wettability with water to develop said material, the LB film on the water surface is uniformly transferred onto the surface of the thin ferromagnetic metallic film and, therefore, the monomolecular layer having no defect parts is uniformly formed. The high-density magnetic recording media with which the uniformity of the still durability is assured are thereby obtd. in a large quantity.
