Abstract

PURPOSE: To shorten the casting time or the drying time for refractories remarkably and tap iron as early as possible by a method wherein a trough type or tank type block repairing body, corresponding to the repairing part of wall surface of a tapping runner or a metal melting vessel, is formed previously and predetermined refractories are cast between the wall surface and the block repairing body to repair the part to be repaired by drying and fixing the refractories integrally. CONSTITUTION: Upon repairing a tapping runner, a damper unit 6 is removed and a part to be repaired is chipped properly by chipping work to prepare the repairing and, thereafter, a block repairing body 13 is hang by a crane or the like through hanging units 26 and is fitted to the part to be repaired, then, H-shaped steel are inserted into the fixing holes 20, 21 of fixing materials 17, 18 respectively to install them on the hot iron runner 1. Then, assistant plates 22, 23 for hanging and reinforcing members 25 are cut by melting respectively to remove them from an upper frame plate 14 for installation and predetermined refractories 5 are cast into the peripheral part of the block repairing body 13. The amount of the cast refractories is comparatively small and, therefore, the refractories can be dried soon. After the refractories 5 are hardened by curing, the hooking units 15 of an anchor 16 are cut by melting and the upper plate 14 for installing is removed whereby the repairing work is finished. According to this method, the repairing of refractories can be effected quickly and efficiently.
