Abstract

PURPOSE:To make it possible to form an acrylic rubber composition having resistance to deteriorated oil under severe thermal conditions and good balance among low-temperature resistance, oil resistance and heat resistance, by mixing a copolymer comprising ethylene, a crosslinking compound and other comonomer components with a crosslinking agent. CONSTITUTION:This acrylic rubber composition comprises a copolymer of ethylene with a crosslinking compound of the general formula: CH2=CH-O-R (wherein R is CH2Cl-CH2- group or a CH2ClCO- group) and the following comonomer component and having an ethylene content of 2-30wt.% and a crosslinking monomer content of 0.1-10wt.% and a crosslinking agent. Said comonomer component is composed of 0-10wt.% vinyl acetate, 20-45wt.% ethyl acrylate and 45-70wt.% n-butyl acrylate, provided that the total of these monomers in the copolymer is 100wt.%. As said crosslinking agent, a combination of a metallic soap with sulfur is desirable.
