Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a resin composition capable of imparting a low modulus and a high impact resistance to polybutylene terephthalate (P), by melt kneading P with a rubber-like copolymer prepared from a vinyl monomer and P.
CONSTITUTION: Polybutylene terephthalate (P) is melt kneaded with a rubber-like polymer, prepared by copolymerization of 1W120 parts by wt. of a vinyl monomer with 100 parts by wt. of P, at the melting temperature (T) of P to (T+300°C). The intrinsic viscosity of P is ≥0.5, preferably ≥0.7. A polymer of an acrylic ester having a 1W15C alkyl group or a copolymer with an acrylic ester content ≥70% may be cited as the rubber-like component in the copolymer.
