Abstract
PURPOSE:To produce an oxide superconductor having high critical temp. and high critical current density in a stage for producing a rare earth element- alkaline earth element-Cu-O-type oxide superconductor by using an oxygen liberating compd. which liberates oxygen by a thermal decomposition operation and oxygen itself in combination as the oxygen source. CONSTITUTION:Each element or powdery compd. of each element constituting an A-B-Cu-O type or an A-B-Cu-O-X type oxide superconductor (wherein A is a IIIa element of the periodic table such as Y, Sc, La, etc.; B is a IIa (element of the periodic table such as Ca, Sr, Ba, etc.; X is halogen such as F, Cl, etc.) is mixed in specified proportion. Then, obtd. raw material powder or a molded body thereof 6, and an oxygen liberating compd. 9 which liberates oxygen by thermal decomposition(e.g. NaClO4 powder) are charged to a reaction vessel 2. Then, oxygen is introduced through a gas introducing pipe 4 and the reaction vessel is heated in a heating furnace 1. Thus, heat-treatment is executed and an oxide superconductor is obtd.
