Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the adhesiveness of ink to a marking surface, by irradiating the marking surface with laser beam, then performing marking. CONSTITUTION:Laser beam 2 is emitted from a laser beam emitter 1 to impinge on a mirror 3 and reflected therefrom to irradiate the main surface of the package 7 of an IC 6 being an object to be marked as laser beam 5. The output of the laser beam 2 is set to such a degree that the package is not burnt and the oils and fats or dust adhered to the main surface of the package 7 are burnt. The reflecting direction of laser beam 5 is changed by the rotary motion of the mirror 3 and scanned in the direction crossing the longitudinal direction of the package 7 at a right angle. Since the IC 6 itself is fed, the main surface of the package 1 of the IC 6 is relatively scanned by the laser beam 5. Thereafter, the package 7 of the IC 6 is fed to a marking part and a printing plate 11 is lowered by the downward movement of an up and down moving block 10 and ink (mark) is adhered to the main surface of the package 7 of the IC 6. The adhesion of oils and fats or dust to the main surface of the package 7 of the IC 6 is reduced and the adhesiveness of the ink to the package 7 is improved.
