Abstract
PURPOSE:To allow one of optical fibers to be freely rotatable by forming the abutting surface of one ferrule in a concave tapered shape, and also, forming the abutting surface of the other ferrule in a convex tapered shape, and fitting an irregular reflection preventive cylindrical body to the outside periphery of both the ferrules. CONSTITUTION:The abutting surface of one ferrule is formed in a concave tapered shape, and also, the abutting surface of the other ferrule is formed in a convex tapered shape, a rotation side optical fiber 6 is provided in the center of a rotation side ferrule 4, and also, a fixed side optical fiber 5 is provided in the center of the fixed side ferrule 3. An irregular reflection preventive cylindrical body 7 is fitted to the outside periphery of both the ferrules 3, 4 and a magnet 8 is placed in the outside periphery. In such a way, as for a light beam having the quality as an electromagnetic wave, dispersion of the light beam in the connecting part is suppressed and focused, and also, amplified to some extent by a laser effect, and even if one of the optical fibers 5, 6 is rotated, the optical axes of the optical fibers 5, 6 coincide very well with the optical axis of the fixed side optical fiber 5, and the connection loss can be reduced.
