Abstract

PURPOSE: To display the target with specific magnification neither vertically nor horizontally on a CRT without increasing the storage capacity of a target image memory by providing a circuit which increases or decreases write addresses that an address counter specifies at a pulse number ratio. CONSTITUTION: This device has a buffer memory 40 where pixel information read out of the target image memory 10 is written and stored as an image signal for raster scanning, the address counter 42 which specifies write addresses to the buffer memory, and an increasing/decreasing circuit which is so formed as to output write trigger pulses of a pulse number ratio based upon an enlargement or reduction rate and inputs write trigger pulses of the pulse number ratio corresponding to desired set magnification to the address counter and increases or decreases the write addresses that the address counter specifies at the pulse number ratio. Consequently, an enlarged/reduced image display of the target can be made on the CRT with the desired set magnification without increasing the storage capacity of the target image memory.
