Abstract

CONSTITUTION: The reflection signal of ultrasonic wave is digitized at the AD conversion circuit not shown and it is stored in the buffer memory 10 in high speed. The deflection circuit 12 forms the address in accordance with the locus of ultrasonic waves with the control of the control section 13. The data in the memory 10 is slowly written in the digital picture memory 11, by taking it as the luminance signal to this address value, to form and store the sectional and flat images. This stored data is read out and displayed on the display unit 8. Thus, independently of the scanning speed of the probe, the flaw detecting image can be displayed in the luminance according to the intensity of the ultrasonic reception signal.
