Abstract
PURPOSE:To occlude hydrogen gas by irradiating laser beam onto the hydrogen occluding metal stored in a sealed container through a laser beam transmission window and instantly heating said metal to a hydrogen occlusion temperature. CONSTITUTION:A sealed container 10 is made of heat insulating material, and a laser beam transmission window 12 is formed on a ceiling part. A quartz crucible 14 is installed onto the bottom of the sealed container 10, and the metal Ti 16 is as hydrogen occluding metal is set. On one side surface of the sealed container 10, a hydrogen gas feeding pipe 22 is inserted, and one edge is set close to the metal Ti 16. The laser beam 46 irradiated from a laser beam irradiation device 44 is deflected by a bending mirror 48, and collected by a condenser lens 50 and irradiated onto the metal Ti 16 through the beam transmission widow 12.
