Abstract

PURPOSE:To generate a sufficiently large displacement with a simple structure by forming a bimetal into a double coil structure and generating a deformation by the heat generation through electric conduction and generating a displacement at a working edge. CONSTITUTION:An electric heating actuator 10 is prepared from a tape-shaped bimetal 11, and a small coil body 12 is formed by winding said bimetal 11 so that the materials having the different thermal expansion rate are superposed in the inward and outward directions, and a large coil body 13 is formed by winding said small coil bodies 12. One edge of the bimetal 11 is used as an electrical input terminal 14, and the other edge is connected with a lead wire 15, and the top edge of the lead wire 15 is used as another electric input terminal 16. Each outer periphery of the bimetal 11 and the lead wire 15 are covered with an electrical insulator. When electricity is applied between the electric input terminals 14 and 16, the bimetal 11 itself generates heat, and an extension and contraction deformation is generated in the axial direction of the large coil body 13.
