Abstract

PURPOSE:To safely and inexpensively treat a waste catalyst and also to recover contained effective components, by pelletizing a blended sintering material in which trace amounts of waste catalyst deteriorated in oxidizing catalytic function are added then subjecting the resulting pelletized material to burning treatment. CONSTITUTION:Impurities, such as hydrogen sulfide and hydrogen cyanide, contained in a coke-oven gas are removed by a dry method by using a catalyst. At this time, a charging device 1 for a discharged waste catalyst 3 deteriorated in an oxidizing catalytic function is provided to the former stage of a blended material mixer 13 of a sintering machine. Then, the above waste catalyst 3 is added to a blended sintering material 11 conveyed from a material blending tank 10 by 0.01-0.05wt.% (based on the blended sintering material), which is mixed and pelletized by means of the above mixer 13. The resulting pelletized material is then burnt by means of a sintering machine 17.
