Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent the defective adhesion between substrates, unequal gap and elution of impurities by necessitating stripping of an inorg. insulating film in a part where the remaining of the impurities is of a problem and forming an org. insulating film to the point where the remaining of the impurities is of no problem. CONSTITUTION:The inorg. insulating film 11 is formed by a sputtering method to the sealing part 7 of transparent substrates 1, 9 on which transparent electrodes 4 are patterned to a prescribed shape. The org. insulating film 10 is then formed to a connecting terminal part and thereafter, a color filter 3 is formed by a high-polymer electrodeposition method, following which the org. insulating film 10 is stripped. The stage is simplified by effectively utilizing the inorg. and org. insulating films in such a manner. The improvement in quality by uniformization of the gap between the substrates, the improvement in the adhesion of the sealing part and the improvement in the reliability by prevention of impurity intrusion are thereby contrived.
