Abstract

PURPOSE:To simplify a design including an insulating structure of a winding, to lower a production cost and to enhance the reliability by a method wherein a winding structure is made as a completely insulating structure and an iron core on which the winding is wound is constructed in such a way that a face facing a side face of the winding is of a non-plane structure. CONSTITUTION:A gap D between a side face 20A of a winding 20 and a side face 20B facing the side face and a reactor iron core 10 is made large from a coil at the end side of the winding from which a neutral-point terminal O is extracted to the coil at the central part from which a circuit terminal L is extracted. As a result, an area of an iron core window is made to be the same as in a conventional system; a required insulating distance between the winding 20 and the reactor iron core 20 can be secured. Because the winding 20 is shaped uniformly and is a completely insulating structure, its shape and its insulation can be designed simply. In addition, because the reactor iron core 10 is polygonal, a circumferential length of the reactor iron core 10 is made shorter than the circumferential length of a conventional reactor iron core; by this setup, it is advantageous that the weight of the iron core is reduced.
