Abstract

PURPOSE:To actually increase the memory capacity of a magnetic disk by recording data at double density in an exclusive reproduction zone and reproducing at double density, and in a recording and reproducing zone recording and reproducing at single density. CONSTITUTION:In the exclusive reproduction zone of a magnetic disk data are recorded at double density in advance. In case of reproducing the data via a magnetic head 8 from the exclusive reproduction zone, a changing over switch 11 is switched by a CPU 2 to read the recording signal at double density read by the head 8 from the disk and after amplifying it by a circuit 9 it is demodulated by removing a clock signal by a demodulation circuit 7.
