この考案は、オートバイ等に搭載する小型内燃

オートバイ等の内燃機関には、筒形で長いマフ
ラが用いられる。マフラは、外筒を末広に成形し
たもの、或は鋼板を左右に分けてプレス成形した
ものを最中状に合せて溶着したものが用いられ
る。そして、内部を仕切板で適宜間隔に仕切つて
消音室を複数個設ける。仕切板は外筒に溶着する
が、プレス成形した最中状のものでは、先に挿入
して溶着するので、片側半分しか溶着できない。
又管状の外筒の場合は後端から挿入するので、全
周溶着できるが、マフフ外筒はメツキ仕上げする
ので、外側の見える部分も溶着すると溶着痕が残
り体裁が悪くなり、そのため内側の見えない部分
半分を溶着する。したがつて仕切板の固定が十分
でなく、振動が発生したり、シール性が不充分で

に分けて断面半円状にプレス成形し、一方に仕切
板2を挿入溶着し、他方を合せて溶着する形のも
のである。而して本考案は、仕切板2の外周にプ
レス成形によつて巾広部3を設けると共に、巾広
部3の外側に位置する半分に、凹み段部4を設け
る。そして、凹み段部4にシール充填材5を塗付
し、仕切板2は内側半分の巾広部3をマフラ外筒
1に、スポツト溶接によつて溶着する。第2図及
び第4図に、矢印Wで示す部分は、内側の溶着す

いのでスポツト溶接の痕が残ることがなく体裁が

を塗着したので、仕切板の溶着しない部分も凹み
段部に入つた十分な量のシール充填材でマフラ外
筒に密着させることができる。このため、消音効
果が低下することがなく、振動の発生も少くでき
る。そして、マフラ外筒の外側の見える面に、ス
