せ、この消音室から複数の消音管を経て大気に連
通させるようにしたものがある。このような排気
装置は、大容量の消音室を設置したことにより消
音効果が向上し、また複数の排気管を消音室に集
中連結したことにより、排気脈動波による吸い出
し効果(以下、単に脈動効果という)を各気筒に
相互に及ぼし合うようにすることにより、一層の
出力向上を図ることができるという効果がある。

は一つの排気管から出た排気が他の排気管に侵入
して気筒内まで逆流し、上記脈動効果による本来
の出力向上効果が減殺されることがあつた。

切板で左右の室に仕切ると共に、前記仕切板に左
右の室を連通する連通孔を設け、前記各室の前壁
側に前記各気筒から延びる複数の排気管を二分し
てそれぞれ接続開口させると共に、各室の後壁側
にそれぞれ前記消音管を接続したことを特徴とす
るものである。

は、それぞれ消音管3,3が接続され、車体側部
に沿つて延長するように設けられている。2aは
消音室2の後部に固定された取付部、3aは消音
管3に固定された取付部であり、これらは取付部
2a,3aを介して車体に取付けられるようにな

による消音効果を増すようにしている。7は消音
室2および消音管3の外側部を空間を介して覆う
ように固着した保護カバーであり、加熱された消
音室2および消音管3から運転者を保護するため
のものである。

ることはなくなるのである。

本来の脈動効果利用による出力向上を阻害される
ことがなくなる。
