Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a treating liquid to be applied to the surface of a rubber elastomer and effective in preventing the mutual sticking of stacked elastomer, by dissolving, dispersing or emulsifying a low-molecular weight vinyl polymer and a dimethylsiloxane silicone oil in a solvent. CONSTITUTION:0.1-10pts.(wt). of a low-melecular weight vinyl polymer and 0.1-10pts. of a dimethylsiloxane silicone oil are dissolved, dispersed or emulsified in a solvent. The addition of the silicone oil is effective in improving the slipperiness without lowering the antiblocking property and in increasing water- repellency and dust-preventing effect.

For this reason, post-treatment to prevent adhesion is required, and countermeasures have been taken by applying a surface treatment liquid or chemically changing the surface with chemicals.

However, in the former method of applying a surface treatment liquid, the surface treatment liquid obtained by dissolving silicone oil and a surfactant in an organic solvent, or the emulsion-type silicone oil-based surface treatment liquid, is used more as an aesthetic treatment than as an anti-blocking agent. Although it is effective as an agent, it not only cannot sufficiently suppress the adhesive force, but also has the disadvantage that the surface of the elastic body leaks due to liquid components such as silicone oil, causing poor appearance. The latter type of chemical treatment chemically treats the surface, such as by halogenating the diene rubber, to lower the coefficient of friction and harden only the surface to prevent blocking.
In order to obtain the desired appropriate surface roughness and surface hardening, there remain very difficult problems in adjusting the chemical blending ratio and treatment time, and it is also expensive6. It had many drawbacks, including the fact that it led to outbreaks.

The surface treatment liquid in the present invention is a solvent or dispersion of 0.1 to 10 weight percent of a low molecular weight vinyl polymer with a melting point of 45 to 50°C and 0.1 to 10 weight percent of dimethylsiloxane silicone oil of 10 to 1000 as. Alternatively, it is a surface treatment liquid obtained by emulsification.

In general, polymer waxes such as polyethylene wax have a hard film and are advantageous for blocking, but their fluidity is poor even at temperatures above their softening point, making it extremely difficult to form a uniform film on the surface of vulcanized rubber. This is disadvantageous from an aesthetic point of view. On the other hand, hedral baraffin wax has high fluidity at temperatures above its melting point, which is advantageous for forming a uniform film on the vulcanized rubber surface, but the film is soft and disadvantageous against blocking. 0 However, the above-mentioned low molecular weight vinyl polymer has the same fluidity as solid paraffin at temperatures above its melting point, and can easily form a uniform film, and the film itself has a lower flow rate than solid paraffin. It is very hard, very advantageous against blocking, and good from an aesthetic point of view.

Prepare 1,000 pieces of 10 types of vulcanized rubber pieces of different sizes, dip them in the surface treatment liquid obtained by mixing them in the proportions above, and dry and harden them at 70°C for 5 minutes. Ta. In addition to stacking 100 pieces of this, 1000 pieces of vulcanized rubber without surface treatment liquid were also stacked.
Prepare 100 sheets, stack them in the same way, and heat them at 40°C.
After being left in the atmosphere for 7 days, the blocking state was observed. As a result of observation, no blocking was observed in the vulcanized rubber pieces treated with the surface treatment liquid of the present invention, and they remained in good condition and had excellent sliding properties.

However, out of 100 pieces of vulcanized rubber that were not treated with the surface treatment solution, blocking occurred throughout the pieces, and an average of 53 pieces had a high degree of blocking, which was difficult to remove.

As described above, the surface treatment liquid according to the present invention eliminates the stickiness characteristic of rubber elastic bodies by simply applying it to the rubber surface, reliably prevents blocking, improves the sliding properties, and improves the appearance. This provides an ideal surface treatment solution that also contributes to improvements in surface treatment.
