写紙に塗布されているインクを溶かして記録用紙
に転写する熱転写型印刷装置において、サーマル
ヘツドの1個の発熱用抵抗体に1画素を対応させ
るように構成し、該サーマルヘツドの発熱部と記
録用紙を一定の速度で相対移動させる機構と、サ
ーマルヘツドの発熱用抵抗体に所定の電流を制御
された時間流す機構とを備え、転写紙に塗布され
ているインクの溶ける量を該発熱用抵抗体に電流
を流す時間に応じて変化させ、1画素を1個の発
熱用抵抗体で面積階調記録して単位面積当りの発
色濃度を制御するようにしたことを特徴とする熱
