The present applicant previously invented and filed an application for an endless transfer material that can transfer and print a seamless pattern on the surface of a cylindrical object (see Japanese Patent Publication No. 55-6516). This is characterized in that the pattern layer 2 is printed to be longer than the circumference of the cylindrical object so that it overlaps on the transferred object 3, and the overlapping portion has the necessary color density due to the overlap. It is an endless transfer material (see Figure 1). By using this endless transfer material, it is possible to transfer and print an endless pattern with no visible seams on a cylindrical object with a curved surface (see Fig. 2). However, the aforementioned endless transfer material is intended for application to a pattern layer 2 in which the coloring agent is 100% dye. The endless transfer material cannot be used when it is necessary to provide a thin metal film layer on the object to produce a metallic luster. This is because, in general, the layer structure of a transfer material for producing a metallic luster pattern is such that a transfer layer is formed by sequentially laminating a colored ink layer 4, a metal thin film layer 5, an adhesive layer, etc. on a releasable base sheet 1. This transfer material is provided with a colored ink layer 4 having low color density portions at both ends in accordance with the technical concept of the endless transfer material, and furthermore, a colored ink layer 4 having a low color density portion at both ends is provided, and the layer thickness gradually becomes thinner toward both ends. Even if an attempt is made to form the metal thin film layer 5 (see FIG. 3 - however, the release layer, adhesive layer, etc. are not shown), it is technically extremely difficult to form the metal thin film layer 5 as described above. Even if it could be formed, if this was used to perform transfer printing on the cylindrical object 3, the colored ink 4 at the transfer start part would overlap the metal thin film layer 5 at the transfer end part. This is because the color density of the colored ink in the overlapped area is extremely reduced because it is hidden by the overlap, making it impossible to transfer print a seamless metallic luster pattern (see FIG. 4).

In view of this problem, the present applicant previously provided a metal thin film layer 5 having a circumferential length of the object to be transferred on a colored ink layer 4 having low color density portions at both ends from one end of the colored ink layer 4. We have devised and filed an application for a transfer material (see Figure 5 - however, the release layer, adhesive layer, etc. are not shown). However, even in such a transfer material, due to variations in the circumference of the cylindrical object that is the transfer object or expansion and contraction of the transfer material, the metal thin film layer 5 having a length that completely matches the circumference of the transfer object 3 is formed. It is extremely difficult to do this (see Figure 6), and as a result, a cut 6 may be created, resulting in an area with no metallic luster at all (see Figure 7), or the colored ink layer at the transfer start area may overlap the metal at the transfer end area. It is hidden by the overlap of thin film layers, and the color density of the colored ink in the overlap area decreases (see Figure 8).
It was extremely difficult to transfer print a seamless metallic luster pattern.

As a result of various studies and experiments in order to solve all of these problems, the inventor of the present invention found that when forming the metal thin film layer 5 on the colored ink layer 4, the colored ink layer 4
When the transfer material is constructed by shifting the metal thin film layer 5,
It was discovered that an endless pattern with no visible seams could be obtained, and based on this knowledge, the present invention was completed. That is, the present invention provides a transfer material in which a transfer layer is formed by sequentially laminating a colored ink layer with no hiding property, a metal thin film layer, an adhesive layer with no hiding property, etc. on a base sheet having peelability. (i) The colored ink layer is formed to be longer than the circumference of the cylindrical object so that it overlaps on the cylindrical object, which is the transferred object, and the overlapping portion is formed at both ends so that the necessary color density is achieved by the overlap. (ii) the metal thin film layer is formed to be longer than the circumference of the cylindrical object so as to overlap on the cylindrical object, and both ends thereof are coated with the colored ink; An endless transfer material for a cylindrical object, characterized in that the layer is shifted in the circumference direction so as not to overlap with the low color density portion of the layer.

The feature of the endless transfer material according to the present invention is that, unlike conventional transfer materials, a metal thin film layer is not provided in register on the colored ink layer.
The metal thin film layer is provided offset from the colored ink layer (see FIG. 9 - however, the release layer, transparent adhesive layer, etc. are not shown). In the endless transfer material shown in FIG. 9, a colored ink layer 4 is provided on a removable base sheet 1, and one low color density part of the colored ink layer 4 is not covered, and the other low color density part is covered. The metal thin film layer 5 is completely covered and shifted to the outside (to the right in the figure). In order to do this, after providing a colored ink layer, a water-soluble resin layer is provided on unnecessary parts of the metal thin film layer using a water-soluble resin, and then a metal thin film layer is provided using a metal vapor deposition method, etc. A method of removing unnecessary metal thin film layers by washing with water, or after providing a colored ink layer, masking unnecessary parts of the metal thin film layer, then applying a metal thin film layer using metal vapor deposition, etc., and then masking. How to remove, etc.
There are various methods.

The colored ink layer of the endless transfer material according to the present invention is configured such that low color density portions are provided at both ends, and the low color density portions overlap on the cylindrical object to obtain the necessary color density. However, in other words, in the case of a colored ink layer that exhibits a constant color density when transfer printing is performed on an object to be transferred, for example, the color density at both ends of the colored ink layer is continuously lowered,
The configuration is such that the individual color densities at both ends do not result in the required color density on the object to be transferred, and only by overlapping can the required color density on the object to be transferred be achieved. In order to do this, for example, a normal gravure plate making method may be used to make the plate so that the color density gradually and continuously decreases from the required color density at both ends of the colored ink layer.

The metal thin film layer of the endless transfer material according to the present invention is formed to be slightly longer than the circumference of the cylindrical object, which is the object to be transferred, and overlaps slightly on the cylindrical object, thereby increasing the circumference of the cylindrical object. The metal thin film layer is configured so that no breaks occur in the metal thin film layer even due to variations in the transfer material or expansion and contraction of the transfer material. The metal thin film layer is overlapped so that the overlapping part has a layer thickness of 2 times more than other parts.
However, since the metal thin film layer is very thin compared to the colored ink layer and has complete hiding properties, the overlap also affects the appearance. No seams occur.

Next, to explain how to use the endless transfer material according to the present invention, the part of the endless transfer material where the metal thin film layer 5 protrudes (the right side in FIG. 9) is used as the transfer start part, and the transferred object 3 is It is placed on a certain cylindrical object, transfer conditions such as heating and pressure are applied, and the base sheet 1 is peeled off while being transferred along the periphery of the cylindrical object (see FIG. 10). By doing this, the metal thin film layer 5 does not hide the colored ink layer 4 at the transfer end portion, and the metal thin film layer 5 at the transfer start portion protrudes from the metal thin film layer 5 at the transfer end portion. Since the colored ink layer 4 overlaps the colored ink layer 4, that is, the metal thin film layer 5 and the colored ink layer 4 overlap at different positions, the periphery of the cylindrical object Even if there are variations in length or expansion and contraction of the transfer material, a seamless endless pattern can always be obtained (see FIG. 11).

As explained above, in the endless transfer material for a cylindrical object according to the present invention, when forming the transfer material, the colored ink layer and the metal thin film layer are overlapped on the object to be transferred, and the colored ink layer is Since the overlapping portions are formed so that the necessary color density is obtained by overlapping, and the colored ink layer and the metal thin film layer are shifted, when transfer printing is performed on a cylindrical object, the colored ink layer and the metal thin film layer are It overlaps the thin film layer at a different location so that the colored ink layer is not obscured by the overlap of the metal thin film layer. Therefore, even in transfer materials that require a metal thin film layer with extremely excellent concealment properties to be provided on the transferred object, such as transfer materials that produce metallic luster patterns, cosmetic containers such as lipstick caps,
It is capable of transfer printing endless patterns with no visible seams on curved cylindrical objects such as writing implements such as pencils and crayons, and plastic containers such as lipstick type glue, and is of extremely practical value. It's expensive.
