The present invention eliminates the drawbacks of such conventional methods and provides a simple method for producing fancy yarn with rich surface variations. When manufacturing fancy yarn by supplying the covering yarn to a rotating hollow spindle and covering the short fiber bundle with the covering yarn unwound from the bobbin attached to the rotating hollow spindle, the short fiber bundle is supplied by the front roller of the spinning machine. With an overfeed of 5% or more, and with the short fiber bundle in a non-contact state with the rotating hollow spindle, the false twist snarl is created between the rotating hollow spindle and the front roller of the spinning machine by the turning traction force during rotational unwinding of the covering yarn. The method of producing fancy yarn is characterized by generating a false twist snarl and fixing the false-twisted snarl with a covering thread.

The present invention will be described in detail below with reference to the drawings.
FIG. 1 is a partially longitudinal side view showing an example of an apparatus used in carrying out the present invention.
The short fiber bundle 2 is covered at the entrance of the hollow spindle 3 by the covering yarn 5 released from the bobbin 4 attached to the rotating hollow spindle 3 by the rotation of the rotating hollow spindle 3, and is guided into the hollow spindle. After being removed, it is taken up by take-up rollers 6, 6' and wound up by take-up roller 7. In this case, the installation position of the rotating hollow spindle 3 should be set so that the short fiber bundle between the spinning machine front rollers 1, 1' and the take-up rollers 6, 6' does not come into contact with the inside of the hollow spindle, which will reduce the turning traction force of the covering yarn. Therefore, it is necessary to stably generate false twist, and furthermore, by creating an overfeed state of 5% or more between the spinning machine front rollers 1, 1' and the take-up rollers 6, 6', the rotating hollow spindle 3
The false twist develops due to the swirling traction force of the covering thread 5 released from the bobbin 4 mounted on the rotating hollow spindle 3 between the tip of the spinning machine and the front rollers 1 and 1' of the spinning machine, and the amount corresponds to the overfeed amount. A false twisted snarl 8 is generated in the running short fiber bundle 2, and the false twisted snarl 8 is generated by the yarn 5 released from the bobbin 4 mounted on the rotating hollow spindle 3.
After the generated short fiber bundle 2 is covered with the false twisted snarls, it is wound up by the winding roller 7 through the inside of the rotating hollow spindle 3 and the take-up rollers 6, 6', thereby completing the process. At this time, if the overfeed rate is less than 5%, you will only be able to obtain a product that is no different from normal covering yarn, but by setting the overfeed rate to 5% or more, it becomes possible to generate false twist snarls. If the overfeed rate exceeds 180%, the occurrence of false twist snarls will decrease, causing slack in the short fiber bundle 2, which will cause problems such as yarn breakage, so the range of the overfeed rate is 5 to 180%. things are desirable.

FIG. 2 shows a side view of the yarn obtained according to the present invention, in which the short fiber bundle 2 is covered with the covering yarn 5, and the false twisted snarl covering part A is covered with the short fiber bundle 2. The length L is regulated by the overfeed rate between the spinning machine front rollers 1, 1' and the take-up rollers 6, 6', and as the overfeed rate increases, it becomes longer, and conversely, the pitch C between the snarls becomes shorter. When the overfeed rate is decreased, the snarl covering pitch C becomes longer, the snarl covering portion A decreases, and the uncovered short fiber bundle snarl B becomes an upright snarl yarn.

In addition, in the manufacturing method of the present invention, the distance between the spinning machine front rollers 1, 1' and the rotating hollow spindle 3 must be at most twice the length of the longest single fiber in the short fiber bundle from the viewpoint of process stability. In order to more reliably stabilize the snarl covering form, it is desirable to set the distance to 1 times or less. It is also possible to introduce additional fixing threads onto the hollow spindle in order to fix the false-twisted snarls.

According to the method of the present invention as described above, it is possible to obtain a snarl-like slab yarn made of the same short fiber bundle, which could not be obtained using conventional spinning machines, etc., and which has a thickness change ratio of 1:3, and A snarl-like slab fancy yarn with a clear unevenness difference between thick and thin sections can be obtained, and by changing the overfeed setting, the snarl-like fancy yarn can be made to look like a designed twisted yarn. It becomes possible to produce stably and efficiently without using special machines with low productivity.

Example 1 Acrylic 8d x 152mm using the equipment shown in Figure 1
After drafting a 100% sliver with a weight of 4 g/m by 15 times, it was placed on a hollow spindle rotating at a rotation speed of 20,000 rpm, which was installed so that the short fiber bundle did not come into contact with the inside of the hollow spindle at an overfeed rate of 65%. Covering with polyester multifilament 150D/30F wound around the installed bobbin, the snarl was taken at a take-up speed of 75 m/min, and the length of the snarl covering part mixed with the snarl non-covering part was 5 to 36 mm, and the snarl covered part was covered. A slubby fancy yarn was obtained with a ring-to-ring length ranging from 75 to 210 mm.
