Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a fluorine-containing waste water treatment method capable of effectively removing fluorine even when phosphorus oxychloride is mixed in fluorine-containing waste water, by adding a ferric salt until the color of the product at the time of treatment becomes brown. CONSTITUTION:A calcium salt such as calcium chloride is added to waste water containing phosporus oxychloride and fluorine in an amount of the reaction equivalent with fluorine or more and a ferric salt such as ferric chloride or ferric sulfate is subsequently added thereto until the color of a formed precipitate becomes brown and, thereafter, an alkali agent is added thereto until the pH thereof becomes 7-8 to further form the precipitate. By this method, fluorine can be efficiently and easily removed from waste water containing phosphorus oxychloride and fluorine by a simple operation.
