The present invention relates to feed for cattle that is effective in promoting growth, increasing milk yield, increasing milk fat percentage, etc. It has traditionally been said that the most important issue in livestock management involving cattle is what type of feed to feed them. That is,
In this industry, there is always a demand for high-quality, inexpensive feed that is effective in promoting cow growth, increasing milk yield, and improving milk quality. This is a strong demand for livestock managers in Japan who are unable to do so. Under these circumstances, the present inventor has been conducting research on improving the quality of feed for cows for some time, and has found that feeding Korean ginseng to cows has various favorable effects such as promoting growth, increasing milk yield, and increasing milk fat percentage. After discovering that this phenomenon appears, they continued their research and completed the present invention. That is, the present invention provides a feed for cattle to which ginseng or a processed product thereof is added and vitamin A, and a feed in which the vitamin A content is less than the standard required amount.
This is a cattle feed to which vitamin A is added at a concentration of 120% or more by weight. In the present invention, cattle feed includes Korean ginseng or its processed products, or products to which vitamin A and the like are added, and furthermore, products containing Korean ginseng or its processed products, such as those added to ordinary cattle feed. means all feed for cattle. The Korean ginseng used in the present invention is a perennial plant of the Araliaceae family, and can be used regardless of its production area or variety as long as it is generally used as a medicinal ginseng. Furthermore, the leaves and stems can also be used together. Korean ginseng may be used after it has been collected from the soil and subjected to low-level processing such as washing, drying, cutting, and pulverizing, or it may be processed to a higher level. good. Here, the processed material is
Examples include those made into extracts by conventional methods, and squeezed lees obtained as by-products thereof. In particular, the pomace powder obtained by extracting the extract by a conventional method is inexpensive and economically advantageous. The extract can also be used in the form of powder, granules, tablets, and the like. In the present invention, ginseng or a processed product thereof may be fed alone during cattle breeding, or may be included in normal cattle feed or during its production. Here, common feed for cattle includes various concentrate feeds and roughage, and examples of these raw feeds are as follows. Namely, seeds (e.g., wheat, oat, corn), bran (e.g., rice bran, bran), waste (e.g., soybean oil extraction residue, sweet potato starch residue, tofu residue, beet pulp), animal feed (e.g., soybean oil extraction residue, sweet potato starch residue, tofu residue, beet pulp), e.g., fishmeal, skimmed milk), root vegetables (e.g., sweet potatoes, turnips), plants (e.g., rice straw, oat stems),
Fresh grass and hay (e.g., clovers, hay cubes), silage (e.g., corn, sweet potato vine), various supplementary feeds (e.g., inorganic substances such as calcium, phosphorus, potassium, sodium, salt,
feed yeast), etc. Panax ginseng or a processed product thereof may also be appropriately added to these feed materials. The amount of ginseng or processed products thereof to be fed varies depending on the type of cow, the growth stage, the type of ginseng, the degree of processing, etc. Usually 1 cow 1
Approximately 0.3 to 10g per day in case of extract,
In the case of the squeezed lees powder of the extract, the amount is appropriately selected from the range of about 20 to 200 g. When fed to cows, the feed containing Panax ginseng or its processed product of the present invention exhibits favorable effects such as growth promotion, increase in milk yield, and increase in milk fat percentage. Furthermore, it is preferable to add vitamin A to the feed in combination because the above-mentioned effects will be further enhanced. Here, the added amount of vitamin A is sufficient and effective even if it is about the standard required amount for cows, but it is preferably 120% by weight or more of the standard required amount, and more preferably
Even better effects can be obtained if it is added in an amount of 200% by weight or more. The standard required amount of vitamin A varies depending on the type of cow or the stage of growth, but for example, the standard requirement for beef cattle and dairy cattle in the "Japan Feeding Standards" edited by the Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Technology Council Secretariat and published by the Japan Livestock Industry Association (1975 edition). It can be determined by referring to the required amount listed in the section on cattle. For example, the standard requirement per animal per day is
2000-16000I for raising 25-400Kg beef heifers.
U., 30,000~ for breeding bulls weighing 250~700Kg
36000 I.U., 1900 to 26000 I.U. for raising dairy cows weighing 45 to 600 kg, 15000 to 32000 I.U. for dairy adult cows weighing 350 to 750 kg, and raising dairy bulls weighing 40 to 1000 kg. 2000-51000 I.U. There are no particular limitations on the form in which vitamin A is administered, such as vitamin A oil, vitamin A powder,
Examples include oily vitamin A fatty acid esters, β-carotene, and further natural products containing a large amount of vitamin A, such as cod liver oil. Furthermore, vitamins other than vitamin A (eg, vitamin D), minerals (eg, calcium, phosphorus), etc. can be used in combination as appropriate in the feed of the present invention. Cattle to be fed with the feed of the present invention include meat breeds, dairy breeds,
All types, such as seeds, and growth stages can be targeted. Although there are various effects of feeding, it is particularly effective in promoting growth and increasing milk yield, and is also observed to improve milk quality by increasing the fat content of milk. It is also expected to have the effect of improving conception rates during breeding. Next, the present invention will be explained in more detail with reference to Examples. Example 1 Dairy cows (Holstein breed) within 6 months after calving,
Four groups of two animals each weighing 500 to 600 kg were prepared.
Each group was given basic feed [corn (silage) 43%, straw
A mixture of 14% beet pulp, 22% beet pulp, and 21% heikyuve] was fed at 10kg each day for 15 days from the 10th day after the start of feeding.
Milk yield and milk fat percentage were measured. The results are shown in Table 1.

[Table] As is clear from the results in Table 1, feeding ginseng lees powder increases milk yield and increases vitamin A
This effect was further enhanced by the combined use of Similarly, milk fat percentage increased when the feed of the present invention was fed. Example 2 Three groups were selected from beef heifers (Holstein breed, male steers) weighing 175 to 190 kg so that the average weight of each group of 3 cows was approximately 180 kg. Each group was fed 6 kg of feed supplemented with pressed ginseng lees powder and vitamin A oil as shown in Table 2 every day, and the weight gain rates were compared after one month of feeding. The results are shown in Table 2.

The composition of (calcium carbonate, calcium phosphate, salt, alpha alpha) was used. As shown in Table 2, when the feed was supplemented with ginseng lees powder, the weight gain rate increased, and when vitamin A was added, the growth was even better.
