A camshaft is pivotally supported on the cylinder head, a valve lifter is disposed above the camshaft in contact with the cam nose, and further above the camshaft is swingably supported on the rocker shaft so that one end is in contact with the valve lifter and the other end is in contact with an intake or exhaust valve.
