Abstract

PURPOSE:To eliminate yet-cleaned portions in a tank, by pivoting a telescopable/ tiltable boom having a nozzle to the lower end of a vertical boom rotatable horizontally, and remote controlling said tiltable boom, nozzle and vertical boom. CONSTITUTION:A device 1 for rotating a cleaning device body around a vertical axis is fixed to a tank cleaning hatch 031 and a vertical boom 2 is secured thereto. A telescopable/tiltable boom 3 is pivoted to the lower end of said vertical boom 2, and a nozzle, i.e. a portable cleaning machine 5, is coupled to the tip portion of the tiltable boom 3. When a tank is cleaned, a worker 28 moves a telescopable cylinder 8 through a power source/operating board 6 so as to telescope/tilt the tiltable boom 3, rotate the vertical boom 2 or regulate injection of pressure water. Consequently, occurrence of yet-cleaned portions on the inner face of the tank can be prevented.

For example, as a tank cleaning device for a chemical tanker, conventionally, as shown in the hull centerline tank 029 in the 6th hull partial cross-sectional view, a tank cleaning device with an inner diameter of 3 Q Q II that protrudes from the upper deck 030 is used. Hatsuchi 0
61, a fixed cleaning machine 062 is connected to the seawater valve or fresh water valve 033 via a hose 04a, and the nozzle 034 attached to the lower end of the fixed cleaning machine 032 is loosely rotated around the vertical axis and horizontal axis, respectively. A hose 04b whose upper end is connected to a seawater valve or fresh water valve 033 and a nozzle 05 attached to its lower end, as shown in the ship side tank 035 in the figure, The worker 036 lowers the water through the tank cleaning hatch 031 into the tank 035 on the ship's side, and while adjusting its vertical position, slowly rotates the pressurized water supply nozzle 05 around the vertical and horizontal axes, respectively. Some systems use the jet water to clean the inner surface of the chemical tank.

(1) By aligning the telescoping elevating boom with the vertical boom and extending it in a straight line using remote control from the upper deck, the entire device can be inserted into the tank at once through the relatively small diameter tank cleaning hatch. Therefore, the number of man-hours required for preparing and cleaning up the cleaning work is reduced.

(21) By remote control from on the upper deck, the telescoping elevating pool is extended, retracted and raised, and the vertical pool is rotated, allowing the cleaning machine to freely approach the inner surface of the tank for direct cleaning. Since no cleaning residue is generated, there is no need for additional manual cleaning work by workers, which reduces work man-hours and improves worker safety.
