極3は圧電素子の側面を経て電極2側に延長した
延長部を有している。即ち、電極2は円形の電極
の一部が切り欠かれており、この切欠部に、電極
2と一定の間隔を保つて電極3の延長部5が設け
られている。6,7はそれぞれ電極2及び延長部

整合層11が貼り合わされる。このような構成で
は、電極3の折り返し延長部5が電極2側にあ
り、電極2の一部が切り欠かれているため、電気
信号をリード線6,7間に印加した時、圧電振動
子のうち電極3の延長部5とその対抗面で挾まれ
た部分には電圧が印加されず、従つて駆動力が発
生しない。このために圧電振動子の前面から放射
される超音波は第6図ロに示すように中心軸に関
して非対称となり、超音波の進行方向が傾いたり
あるいはサイドローブが大きくなるなどの不都合

考案の構成

実施例の説明

極3の直径は圧電素子1の直径と同じか又は多少
小さくされている。一面の電極2上には電気絶縁
材が塗布、乾燥されるか又は電気絶縁膜4が接着
されている。更に、導電性材料が圧電素子1の側
面及び前記電気絶縁材の一部に塗布され、電極3
の延長部5を構成している。このように、本考案
では、電極3は導電性塗料により圧電素子1の側
面を経て前記電気絶縁材2上に延長されており、
電極2と電極3の延長部5とは電気絶縁材4で互
いに絶縁されている。6,7はそれぞれ電極2及
び電極3の延長部5に接続された引出しリード線
である。第3図に示したのは、超音波探触子を構
成した場合であり、8は負荷材で、この負荷材8
上に圧電振動子が貼り合わされる。9はケース、
10は接着剤、11は音響整合層を示す。この構
成では圧電素子1、電極2、電極3がいずれも円
形で同心円状に構成されているため、放射される
