動装置、特にフロントフオークの下部に横架され

用駆動軸を回転自在に収容し、この駆動軸を、前
記ホイールハブに連動されるリテーナを以て駆動
するようにした形式の補機駆動装置に関する。

ル9の他端は図示しないスピードメータに連動さ
れている。したがつて駆動軸7が回転されると、
ねじ歯車8および伝動ケーブル9を介してスピー
ドメータを回転駆動することができる。

車の補機駆動装置において、前記リテーナは、前
記軸受孔のギヤケース側の開口端に筒状ダストシ
ールを介して一体的に圧入嵌合される円筒部と、
この円筒部に一体に形成されて前記駆動軸に係合
する係合爪とを備え、前記ダストシールは、前記
ギヤケースの開口端部にその全周に亘つて摺接す
るシールリツプ部を一体に有するので、リテーナ
の円筒部を筒状ダストシールを介してホイールハ
ブの軸受孔に単に圧入嵌合させるだけで、リテー
ナをホイールハブに連動回転させることができ、
その連動のために従来のようにリテーナとホイー
ルハブの軸受孔開口縁部との間に凹凸係合手段を
特別に加工したり或いはその間を特別にビス止め
したりする必要はなくなり、その上、ホイールハ
ブの左右軸受孔およびその開口縁部の構造を左右
対称に形成でき、製造コストの低減に大いに寄与
し得る。また前記ダストシールは、リテーナとギ
ヤケース開口端間ばかりでなく、リテーナと軸受
孔開口端間をも封緘することができるから、単一
体でありながらギヤケース内と軸受孔内とを同時
に外部より密封でき、ギヤケース内の歯車機構や
軸受孔内の軸受の耐久性向上に寄与し得ると共
に、それらのシール構造の簡素化を図ることがで
きて組立性も向上する。また特に前記筒状ダスト
シールはそれを介してリテーナ円筒部を軸受孔に
圧入嵌合させるから、その圧入力によつてダスト
シール自身のシール性能を向上させることがで
き、その上、ダストシールの存在によつてリテー
ナ円筒部と軸受孔との嵌合面間の摩擦連結力を増
強することができる。
