Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent the generation of impurities in a neutralizing unit and permit to discharge mixed foreign materials by a method wherein a pipe, communicated through a valve provided on a hot-water supplying pipe, is provided on the neutralizing device of a water heater or on the half way of a condensed water tube. CONSTITUTION:A pipe 13, communicated with the upper part of a neutralizing unit 10, is connected to a valve 12 provided on the half way of a hot-water supplying pipe 7. In the case of periodical inspection, a part of supplying hot-water passes through the hot-water supplying pipe 7, the valve 12 and the communicating pipe 13 and flows into the neutralizing unit 10 by opening the valve 12. Remaining condensed water or stagnating materials in the neutralizing unit 10 is discharged by the hot-water or water, which entered into the neutralizing unit 10, to the outside of the titled heater through a water discharging pipe 11. According to this method, stabilized neutralizing characteristics may be obtained and the safety of the heater may be improved.

2. Description of the Related Art Conventionally, this type of water heater has a structure as shown in FIG. That is, the combustion gas combusted in the burner 1 passes through the main heat exchanger 2, the auxiliary heat exchanger 3, and the exhaust pipe 4, and is discharged to the outside of the machine by the combustion fan 5. On the other hand, the flow of water is such that water enters through the water supply pipe 6 and reaches the auxiliary heat exchanger 3, where the latent heat in the combustion gas combusted in the burner 1 is recovered and heated in the main heat exchanger 2. After that, the hot water is supplied from the hot water supply pipe 7 to a hot water supply pipe (not shown).

The condensed water generated on the surface of the auxiliary heat exchanger 30 is collected in the receiving tray 8 and discharged to the outside of the machine via the condensed water pipe 9, the neutralization device 10, and the drain pipe 11. The condensed water contains 80% of the combustion gas.
Since strongly acidic ions such as 2-NO- are dissolved, neutralization treatment is performed in the neutralization device 1o.

Problems to be Solved by the Invention However, in the configuration as described above, when the water heater is not used for the longest time, the residual condensed water in the neutralization device 10 reacts with the neutralizing agent to generate impurities. Otherwise, the peeled surface treatment agent of the auxiliary heat exchanger 30 may enter the neutralization device 10, resulting in a change in the neutralization characteristics.

In a water heater configured in this way, when the water heater is not used for a long period of time or when regular inspection is performed, by opening the pulp 12, a part of the hot water passes through the hot water supply pipe 7 - the pulp 12 - the communication pipe 13. and flows into the neutralization device 10. Due to this flowing hot water or water, residual condensed water and stagnant substances in the neutralization device 1o are discharged to the outside of the machine through the drain pipe 11. Particularly when hot water is introduced, the effect is great because it easily dissolves the stagnant matter.
