[Technical Field] The present invention relates to a laminate for a printed wiring board used in industrial equipment, electronic equipment, electrical equipment, etc., and its base material. [Background Art] Multilayer printed wiring boards generally include a resin-impregnated base material (resin-impregnated glass cloth) between an inner layer (interior) laminate on which an electric circuit is formed and an outer layer (exterior) circuit board. It is made by lamination molding with intervening resin-impregnated cloth or resin-impregnated paper, such as
As the number of layers and density of multilayer printed wiring boards increases, accidents such as soldering of lead wires falling off have become more frequent. The main reason for this is that the laminate undergoes a large dimensional change under heat load. For this reason, there has been a strong demand for laminates with excellent dimensional stability. [Object of the invention] The invention disclosed herein was made in view of the above circumstances, and provides a laminate with excellent dimensional stability,
The object of the present invention is to provide a glass cloth that is suitable for making such a laminate and has excellent dimensional stability. [Disclosure of the Invention] In order to achieve the above-mentioned object, the first invention provides a method in which the contents of SiO 2 , Al 2 O 3 and MgO are as follows:
60% by weight or more, 20% by weight or more, and 15% by weight or less,
The gist of the invention is a glass cloth for a laminate, characterized in that the total of these three components is 97% by weight or more, and a second invention is a laminate in which the glass cloth is used as a base material, , as glass cloth,
The content of SiO 2 , Al 2 O 3 , and MgO is 60% by weight or more, 20% by weight or more, and 15% by weight or less, respectively, and the total of these three components is 97% by weight or more. Its gist is the laminate plate that is characterized by its use. The above two inventions will be explained in detail below. Conventionally, various materials such as paper and glass cloth have been used as base materials for laminates, but all of them have a high coefficient of thermal expansion and therefore have poor dimensional stability. The inventors focused on glass cloth and conducted repeated research in an attempt to obtain one with excellent dimensional stability. the result,
The content of SiO 2 , Al 2 O 3 , and MgO in the glass cloth is important, and should be 60% by weight or more and 20% by weight, respectively.
15% by weight or less, and the total of these three components is 97% by weight or more, that is, B 2 O 3 , K 2 O,
If the total of other components such as Na 2 O and CaO is less than 3% by weight, the coefficient of thermal expansion can be reduced to 3×10 -6 mm/mm.
They have discovered that it is possible to reduce the temperature to as low as about 0.degree. C., and that it is possible to achieve excellent dimensional stability. If the content of SiO 2 is less than 60% by weight or if the content of MgO is less than 20% by weight, the dimensional stability will be poor, and if the content of Al 2 O 3 is more than 15% by weight, the drilling workability will be poor. becomes worse.
Furthermore, when the glass cloth is made of one component of Al 2 O 3 or SiO 2 , the hardness increases and the workability deteriorates. Table 1 shows the compositions of the ordinary glass cloth for substrates and the glass cloth according to the first invention.

The laminate of the example was produced in the following manner. Glass cloth with SiO 2 , Al 2 O 3 , and MgO contents of 64%, 24%, and 12% by weight, respectively, was used as the base material, and polyimide (Kelimide 601) was used so that the resin content was 50% by weight. ) was impregnated into glass cloth to create a resin-impregnated base material. After stacking 8 sheets of this resin-impregnated base material and further stacking 35 mm thick copper foil on the top and bottom surfaces, laminate molding was performed by heating and pressurizing at 200℃ and 70Kg/ cm2 for 90 minutes. A laminate was obtained. The thermal expansion coefficient and dielectric constant of the obtained laminate were measured. The measurement results are shown in Table 2.

The glass cloth for laminated plates according to the first invention includes:
The contents of SiO 2 , Al 2 O 3 , and MgO are 60% by weight or more, 20% by weight or more, and 15% by weight or less, respectively, and the total of these three components is 97% by weight or more, so it is dimensionally stable. Excellent in sex. Therefore, the laminate according to the second invention using such a glass cloth as a base material has improved dimensional stability and is less prone to problems such as soldering coming off during heat load.
